Hello again everyone! It’s been a really busy week here at stefanfoto with all the pictures that needed to be delivered to clients and printed for various organizations, but we have a bit of a break, and we can finally update the blog with some shots of the fanfare surrounding the city of Vancouver during the last day of the Winter Olympics.

Photos taken by: Stefan Mladenovic

We took this shot at night at the Richmond City Hall. The city flooded the waterways around the building with cranberries (which are Richmond’s #1 export) and we thought the shot looked kind of cool.

A wider shot of the cranberries just to show the sheer scope. It looked fantastic.

The scene downtown Vancouver immediately after Canada won the gold medal in men’s hockey on Sidney Crosby’s goal.

The closer we got to Robson Square (the main party destination for the Olympics) the more rabid the crowd got.

Police were definitely overwhelmed on this day in particular as Vancouver has never seen such a party before.

Any free space served as a party zone on this day.

A picture at the end of the night long after the closing ceremony and long after the partiers went home. This is reminiscent of just how Vancouver looks on any other non-Olympic day.

The Olympics were a special and unique event for Canada and especially for Vancouver. The city was never abuzz like this before and there was never such a sight of national pride. Surely this is an event that had to be experienced as the photos do not do justice. At stefanfoto, we are immensely grateful to the people that made these pictures possible and also for putting up with our dedication for the perfect picture throughout the games. With the Paralympic games beginning soon, Vancouver will be the hub of excitement once again. And we look forward to covering those events as well.

Thank you for viewing!
